The following page is devoted to some of my photographs of Passerines, more commonly (although less accurately) known as "perching birds" or "songbirds." Passerine birds make up more than half of all living birds. They are of small to medium size, have three toes pointing forward and one pointing back, and are often brightly colored. They also usually lay colored eggs. CHICKADEES, KINGLETS, SWALLOWS, JAYS, CROWS, WRENS, THRUSHES, TANAGERS, FLYCATCHERS, FINCHES, SPARROWS, WARBLERS, WAXWINGS, AND BLACKBIRDS are all passerine birds.
