TRIP REPORT TEMPLATE
for when I climb this route

INTRO

Been in the Chehalis in July 2017 when we did Viennese-Clarke Traverse, a classic high-rdigeline traverse in the area. Good recon trip.

Bardean is a squat, powerful north wall of buttresses and ribs, epitomizing the special challenge of the big north face rockclimbs of the Chehalis. Climbs are long and committing, in the 15-18 pitch range. Perusing through the Alpine Select guidebook before the trip, we had decided to climb Tuning Fork, which the guidebook described as of the great classics of southwest British Columbia. Below Bardean's summit is a curious scoop that runs almost the full height of the wall, flanked on each side by slender buttresses. It is this feature, the Tuning Fork, that gives the climb its name.
